What Happened

Terrell and Marlene Drake, a Las Vegas couple, operated Everton's Place, also doing business as Impossible Behavioral Health Services. Their company was supposed to provide behavioral health services to Medicaid patients in Southern Nevada.

An investigation by the Nevada Attorney General's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit found that the Drakes were billing Medicaid for services that either weren't provided at all or lacked the required documentation to prove they were provided. When you bill Medicaid, you must be able to show records proving each service actually happened — the Drakes could not.

Both were convicted of Medicaid fraud. In addition to their criminal sentences, they were excluded from participating in Medicaid and Medicare for 10 years — effective March 21, 2022 through March 21, 2032 — meaning they cannot bill any government healthcare program during that period. Restitution was ordered by the court.
